Some thoughts for today, some folklore.
County Cork, Ireland
[I saw] little goblin-y type men running in and out of bushes, giggling, tumbling and scurrying around garden.
[They were] about two-feet tall, very dark skinned, swarthy with big noses. Ragged clothes.
[I heard] streams of music which was hypnotic but made me feel sick!
We had a solid type fog all day and [just before the event occurred] a farmer had said, “Pooka come down in mist.”
The days of old there lived the Dwarfs, now dwarfs can move through the Earth like a fish moves through water.
One night A dwarf who we call “The-Dwarf-Who-Dared-The-Sun” came out of the earth to look for some trinkets until at a small body of water he saw the most beautiful woman bathing at the water in the moonlight. The dwarf being quite enchanted bu this woman that he would regularly come back out the earth this time every night to catch another glimpse of her.
But he knew that they could never be together, he was a creature of the night, she a creature of the day , He would surely turn into stone if sunlight struck him.
The-Dwarf-Who-Dared-The-Sun’s Love was too much to bear. He approached her one night and confessed his undying love, she was flattered but espoused the same concerns of the day, He said to her “Our love can overturn the Sun! morrow morning meet me here and we will dare the sun”
Next morning come, he left his earthly home before dawn and waited for her and the sun, But the Sun rose before his lover could make it and so The-Dwarf-Who-Dared-The-Sun was beaten and turned to stone.
The young women approached the lake and could not see or find her dwarf admirer, she did not see that he had turned into stone.
It is said that you can find the Dwarf still standing by the lake, frozen as rock awaiting his lover to the end of time.
“Father in heaven, you have given me a mind to know you, a will to serve you, and a heart to love you. Give me today the grace and strength to embrace your holy will and fill my heart with your love that all my intentions and actions may be pleasing to you. Give me the grace to be charitable in thought, kind in deed, and loving in speech towards all.”
