An Interesting Story.
There was a pious Catholic women who’s husband was an Atheist Doctor, he hated God and anything to do with religion.
For a while he tried to breakdown the faith of his wife, a sort of anti-conversion and convince her that God was not real.
She reacted to this by studying more deeply into her faith and by 1905 she had fallen very ill. She was in a state of constant pain and distress, never fully recovering.
Until 1914, She was close to death, While dying on her bed she said to he husband “When I am dead, You will become Catholic and a Dominican Priest.” He replied “You know my sentiments, I have sworn a hatred of God, I shall live in that hatred and I shall die in that hatred.”
She repeated her request and then passed away.
Some time after her death the Husband was going through her papers and her belongings, he eventually found her Will which stated:
“In 1905 I asked Almighty God to send me sufficient sufferings to purchase your soul. On the day I die, the price will have been paid.”
he dismissed this as the fancies of a pious woman, the superstitions of a dying women.
He decided to wrote a book disproving the Faith and most of all Lourdes in France.
So he travelled to Lourdes to write against the Blessed Virgin and Our Lord, but as he was at the Shrine looking upon the statue of the Virgin he was awash with a sudden faith for God. Years later he became a priest.
