Kenosis

kenosis (Greek: κένωσις, kénōsis, lit. [the act of emptying]) is the ‘self-emptying’ of Jesus’ own will and becoming entirely receptive to God’s divine will.

Imagine if you will, You are separated from your human body but you retain all your rationale, logic and mind of a human being,  then you enter into the body of a dog.

You still retain all your Human mind and soul but at the same time you are in this Dog body, you are surrounded by Dogs, you cannot talk as you would, you can only bark.

Imagine what it must have been like for Our Lord to Empty himself and incarnate as a man?

Such humility, this is possibly the greatest act of Love the Lord hath done upon the world and men. He Became one of US! He so humbled himself to be a human baby, growing in the womb of our blessed mother, he was born and screamed into the world just like all of us did on our birth.

He grew like we all did, went though childhood much like us .  Whenever I contemplate this I am always moved by this, it is amazing it is almost hard to put into words.

So think on top of all this, was his public ministry and what came after that, the Persecution and ultimately the Crucifixion, The Last Sacrifice.

Jesus Christ  The Son of God, Our Savour the night before his death took on ALL THE SINS OF THE WORLD, the sins of the past, the sins of the present and the sins of the future, he DIED for all it to SAVE US from our detachment to him. He PAID for our sins.
What greater love is there then that?

“Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” 29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. 30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.”  – John 19-28
